Latitude N x Longitude W CHURCH/CEMETERY HISTORY: ------------------------ From: Jo Ann Wigington Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 4:44 PM I just noticed that the pictures of the Rankin Cemetery there on Three and Twenty Creek really did not have the oldest grave marked in the picture except a small sliver of the top of the huge field rock which is engraved with the name of William Rankin who was the first one buried there in 1817 and we have never cleaned the second rock beside it but it may be his wife Letitia . Williams rock can be read if the moss is racked off- Wm Rankin and the date is very plain. JoAnn R. It overlooks the 3 & 20 watershed and is on the property of Joanne Rankin's daughter, Teresa. There are 15 readable tombstones and many more graves with fieldstones.
